An Indian High Commission official was caught spying in Pakistan

A senior staff member of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad has been expelled from Pakistan following allegations of espionage. Shankar Reddy Chintala, who held a diplomatic post, was declared persona non grata by Pakistani authorities after they accused him of conducting activities inconsistent with his diplomatic status.

According to official sources, Chintala was found engaging in what authorities have described as “spying under the cover of diplomacy.” The details of the alleged espionage have not been made public, but officials stated that evidence prompted immediate action.

Following the expulsion order, Chintala has been instructed to leave Pakistan within 24 hours. He is expected to return to India today, accompanied by his family.

The incident is likely to further strain the already tense diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries. As of now, the Indian government has not issued a formal statement in response to the expulsion.
